Hot off the back of playing two sold out Howler gigs in Melbourne on the weekend and three quarters of the way through their largely sold out When The Storms Would Come album tour, Holy Holy are now set to storm Brisbane for two BIGSOUND headliner showcases; Title Track Party at The Brightside on Tuesday September 8 and Triple J Unearthed Stage at Oh Hello on Wednesday September 9.
One of the most talked about bands in the country right now, Holy Holy have enjoyed performing to sold out audiences in Perth, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide and Melbourne and are still yet to play Thirroul, Newcastle, Canberra and a sold out show in Sydney over the next fortnight, before headlining two Aussie festivals; Sounds of The Suburbs (Sydney) on September 27 and Dashville Skyline (Singleton, NSW) on October 4.
“Taking the album out on the road has been hugely satisfying,” beams vocalist Tim Carroll. “We’re loving having the chance to play the record live for packed rooms all round the country, the audiences have been vibey as f**k!”
Packing as much in to the year as possible and to celebrate the release of their debut album When The Storms Would Come on the other side of the world on October 30 (out through Sony Red), the band will next month embark on their second UK / EU tour for 2015. Tickets to their London show are selling fast and they’re set to play some massive festivals including London Calling Amsterdam and also a coveted spot on the lineup of Liverpool Music Week. This follows their May tour that saw the band sell out their first ever London show and pack out showcases at The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City, and play Dot To Dot, London Calling and Primavera Festivals.
“One of the standout albums to be released this year…Almost perfect” Daily Telegraph
“When they’re fully engaged, they go at songs like Arcade Fire, 120 per cent committed” Herald Sun
“A killer of a record” Indie Shuffle
“These songs have a musicality and attention to detail that lift Holy Holy above the pack …an album that should take them to places neither could have imagined” Courier Mail
“This is a brave debut album – a dense, sophisticated effort that attempts to blend Bowie with Band Of Horses, or Springsteen with Midlake. And ends up succeeding” Best Before
Holy Holy is fronted by the songwriting team, vocalist/composer Timothy Carroll and guitarist/composer Oscar Dawson. They are joined on the road by permanent drummer Ryan Strathie (Hungry Kids Of Hungary, Andy Bull), touring bass player Graham Ritchie (Airling, Emma Louise), and Brisbane-based producer Matt Redlich as their touring keys player.
