Following on from relentlessly traversing the countryside and releasing a slew of standout songs, Hobart-based indie-pop quartet, Chase City have just announced East Coast tour dates and returned with new single ‘Surrounded’ – Recorded and produced by ARIA award-winningproducer, Lachlan ‘Magoo’ Goold (The Jungle Giants, Art Vs. Science, Regurgitator).
Meticulously crafted instrumentation is melded with the unique and endearing vocal croons of front man, Tarik Stonemen to deliver an exciting take on modern indie-pop, which recalls the vibe of the group’s staple influences such as The Wombats, Hot Chip and The Rapture.
The band first kicked-started their career through being Unearthed by triple j as part of their 2013 Falls Festival competition. Since then, the four-piece haven’t looked back and have been strongly embraced by local community radio, worldwide blogs and Spotify via their ‘New Music Friday’playlist.
The band have completed six national headline tours with multiple sold out shows and along their travels they’ve also shared stages with the likes of household names Sticky Fingers, Jinja Safari, Dune Rats and Gang of Youths. To coincide with the release, Chase City will also be playing a selection of East Coast tour dates, including a three-week residency at The Workers Club, Melbourne.
An accompanying music video for ‘Surrounded’ will be unveiled in the coming weeks
