So we’ve given you all you need right here in one chewable tablet of new music. Orange flavour.
L.U.V- You’ll Never Let Me Go
These two cutie-pies are sisters Maya and Vivi Mohan. From the nutrient rich soils of South East Queensland, these two have been making pop gems for a while now,and their latest release is a perfectly quaint little earworm You’ll Never Let Me Go. Simple catchy melodies and summer-y good times abound. Perfect for the train home as you embark upon your suitably delightful weekend.
Owen Rabbit- Weeds
Melbourne’s Owen Rabbit is a producer of many influences and stylistic penchants, with his crafty blends of electronica gaining fans all across the world from BBC Radio 1, Spotify and that show with Ellie Goulding on it. This track starts off as a lovely little ballad before morphing into an entirely different beast. A real grower. So many plant based references. You’ll love it.
Nocturnal Tapes- Pattern
Nocturnal Tapes are just great. Really swell. No one is funkier than these guys. Pattern is a testament to this. A little bit of Jagwar Ma influence creeps into their work, with a nice, cruise-y slow jam blossoming into a bombastic choruse that will stick with you for days. And that guitar lick, well..it’s sex for your ears.
Thandi Phoenix- Tell Me Where the Lovers Have Gone
Australia has recently built a reputation as a breeding ground for electronic soul artists, and by goodness we’ve done it again. Thandi Phoenix is a vocalist full of sass, style and dramatic poise. Tell Me Where the Lovers Have Gone is packed full of intriguing production value, great melodies and plenty of sex appeal. This one’s perfect for your late night Friday romance-jam with that girl/boy you’ve had your eye on at the office. Put this on and watch the sparks fly. Make that move, tiger.
