For Brisbane’s Danny Harley (affectionately known as The Kite String Tangle), the past 12 months have been nothing short of monumental. There isn’t a man, woman or beast that hasn’t gotten their groove on to his first single Given the Chance, with the track even beating Yeezus to 13th spot in the Hottest 100 for 2013.
Sydney’s Hermitude, on the other hand, have had a rather quiet 12 months, with fans salivating over the prospect of a follow up to 2012’s HyperParadise.
But the popular two-some have ventured out from hibernation this week with a fresh remix of TKST‘s new single Stone Cold, featuring the smooth vocal talents of Tiana Khasi.
The track doesn’t differ terribly from the original, with the Hermitude guys content to keep Harley’s smooth RnB inspired verses and instead beef up the chorus with some 90’s inspired stabs and wibbly wobbly vocal samples. Personally, I’m a fan of The Kite String Tangle‘s lovely two-step beat in the original, but this is certainly an improvement for those fans of Hermitude’s signature bass-heavy sound.
But hey, you can be the judge! Have a listen to both tracks below!
