BV (Black Vanilla, for the layman) like to get downright thumpity thump thump. A bit of soul, a bit of glitchy goodness and an all round good time. So how are the boys gonna go remixing an ethereal mega anthem such as Vera Blue‘s Hold?
Turns out BV (as they are now known) boys don’t give a damn about your traditions, they’re gonna try and make dinner and dessert ONE crazy meal.
Hold starts out with Blue‘s soaring vocals and mystical synth tones getting everyone at the party ready to cry into wine glasses and clutch old love letters tight to their chests. But here to save the day are BV, who flip the track on it’s side and transform the track into an industrial trip-glitch wasteland. All of a sudden people are drying their eyes and getting all mechanical on the d-floor!
Vera Blue‘s Hold is a tremendous track, and her vocals are out of this world-whether it works with BV‘s aforementioned thumpity thump thump is hard to tell. It is a little hard to get into the rhythm of the track with such a dramatic shift in dynamic, but at the same time the harshness of BV’s production kind of adds a little something that may have been missing from the original track.
Take a listen yourself below and if you want to catch BV in action, you better pray someone gives you a ticket to the SOLD OUT Secret Garden Festival this weekend.
